Hi!! Canadian vet tech in training here, Have you ever had to deal with kangaroos attacking pets like dogs and such? I have seen pictures of kangaroos and seen them in zoo's they seem kind of mean when provoked so I was wondering and you seemed like a good person to ask!!! Question tax: if you had to be a mythical creature what would you be?

I haven’t personally, but it’s certainly something that happens. A big roo can total your car in a collision, and they are well adapted to doing damage to other upright bipeds and their dogs, so it is a potential risk.

But I have practiced exclusively in the South East of Australia, where generally our macropods have been on the smaller size.

The red kangaroos, the biggest of the bunch, are mostly around the red center.

They will certainly tear open a human or a dog is cornered. He’s bigger than you are.

Closer to me, you might find an Eastern Grey, which is a bit smaller than the reds, but you’re more likely to come across a wallaby.

Lawn furniture for size reference.

But practicing in Tasmania, the most common macropod I’d come across were these little dudes.

Pademelons are tiny and adorable and I love them, but they’re not a match for a dog.

If I had to be a mythical creature, I’d probably go with mermaid. I’m pretty tired of having sore feet all the time.
